Transport of radioactive materials
Radioactive material is transported within the EU every day and it accounts for about 1% of all dangerous goods transport in Europe. While most shipments contain material with relatively low levels of radioactivity, some may have highly radioactive substances such as irradiated nuclear fuel.
The course is aimed at drivers of road transport vehicles with professional experience in the transport of hazardous materials. Participants learn about the regulations and methodologies used to identify and manage the risks involved in the transport of hazardous materials by road.
After completion of the course, they will be capable of undertaking specific measures in the case of an incident and accident.
