Activities requiring the use of radiation sources must be supervised by staff with skills in radiation protection. The course is created for a staff looking to specialize in a radiation protection profession. Trainees will gain the skills required to become a radiation protection officer in the field.
Using fundamental radiation protection calculations and in line with the legal and regulatory framework, trainees will learn how to define the necessary personal and collective protective means for each situation and to carry out standard radiological checks.
Building on their own technical and regulatory knowledge, trainees will further enhance their practical skills in the measurement, inspection, zoning and management of radioactive waste. The course specifically focuses on the importance of training and informing workers, as well as on managing deteriorated radiological conditions.
